Together, let’s put an end to deteriorating health

Health & Wholeness Depend on Gut - Brain Communication

Mayer (2011) has made a bold statement about the axis between the gut and brain and subsequent researchers have agreed:

How you feel in the gut influences how you think, how you remember, and how you behave.

That is a lot of responsibility from one system, the GI tract. But that is not all - the immune system is influenced by the gut, hormones production (Dockray et al., 2014; Sun et al., 2020), nervous system (Montagnani et al. (2023), and more.

Think that your intuition and decision making is solely made by you alone? Mayer's (2011) foundational article shows that it is the gut, or more accurately, the community in the gut that directs much of how you think.

Crosstalk between different organs and systems is now a central theme in research: science in itself is shaped up by the realization that we, as human beings, are evolving or devolving whole systems. Our health depends on the kind of communication we create in our own body.

So how do we affect this powerful communication that affects who we are, our health, and whether we evolve or devolve?

We will continue with this path this week.
