David Restrepo Finds a Redemptive View on COVID-19: Be Your Best Every Day
Dear Friends
I asked David Restrepo, the owner of Vitahealth Apothecary in Manhattan - an amazing integrative pharmacy, for a spontaneous response to the question, can we find the redemptive value in COVID-19 Pandemic? Here's David's response:
I think the pandemic forced us to be better versions of ourselves, like we should be every day. In the health care world we’ve had to search for answers on how we can help our population, to prevent viral fusion, to address the nutrient deficiencies, to add strength and protective barriers. From a holistic point of view, addressing the whole body is more important than ever. We must understand that we succumb to a virus or a disease or a pandemic because of nutrient deficiencies. We need to eat good foods and take nutraceuticals, so that is number one.
Number two for me is that it has been a deep time of introspection to really concentrate on what matters most in life, and I think that it is family, and just reaching out to people even if you couldn’t see them to tell them you care about them, and making sure that they are safe ... so those are two things that are constantly in my mind.
I asked David for any final thoughts that come to mind?
We need to put more emphasize on gut integrity and barrier integrity for our health. Of course it absolutely and directly involves the immune system. Because as you know, we keep ordering your stuff because we love your stuff.
Thank you David for sharing your mind and heart!
Take care everyone,
Seann

Green Facts:
Eco-farming combines modern science and innovation with respect for nature and biodiversity. It ensures healthy farming and healthy food. It protects the soil, the water and the climate. It does not contaminate the environment with chemical inputs or use genetically engineered crops. And it places people and farmers—consumers and producers, rather than the corporations who control our food now—at its very heart. It is a vision of sustainability and food sovereignty in which food is grown with health and safety first and where control over food and farming rests with local communities, rather than transnational corporations.
