Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah: Finding Our Light
What unites Christmas and Hanukkah? Both holidays share the theme of Light.
At Christmas the theme of light is not just with the billions of lights on the beautiful trees, in the house, and outside, everywhere - all over the world.
Christmas is a holiday that celebrates the light of Jesus, his teachings about love and forgiveness. It is about developing and growing our own inner light, our Divine spark.
At Hanukkah, the candles that kept their light bright, in the temple, even though there was only a little oil left, and not enough to burn for 8 days.
This light was magical, not of this world. At the same time, the symbol of light, continuing on to shine in spite of the circumstance, is about human resilience, steadfast, and bright, albeit, with the absolute help of the Divine.
Both holidays have the Divine influence our life in magical ways, both direct us toward our own light within, and both invite us to follow the light of the Divine.
After Seann passed in January of 2022, my guiding principle was and still is - to walk with the Divine. To know that I am safe and whole, always guided, and surrounded by love.
And so it was, and so it is.
I see love in my friends' and family eyes, their actions and support, their steadfast encouragements. And little magical things appear continually in my life - a perfect timing, the right word at the right time, a touch, laughing together. Learning to cook... Loving life again.
The Divine is beautiful, and you spark with that beautiful light.
In the holidays of light and Divinity I wish you love, and yes, even magic.
Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah.
Yours as always,
Dohrea
