Happy Passover & Palm Sunday: Celebrating the Freedom of All People
I have been writing about social justice and peace for many years, and as a holiday, Passover is a great opportunity to remember that stories of liberation do not end with freedom but continue on with the responsibilities of how to live a worthy life, and help others do the same.
As we learned in 2023 post, The Responsibility of Justice for All People, the Passover is quite a crazy story of murder, leaders who are stubborn and short sighted, with greed, ungratefulness, and yes, freedom too.
But how do we get there? How do we enact freedom for all people? What would be the central theme for a global understanding of justice and peaceful living?
Upholding Freedom for Every Human Being discusses that essential coming together - a collective evolution toward the realization that human dignity is at the core of freedom. Dignity is the foundation from which I built my global theory of peace.
As we speak, 32 nations have sever conflicts and wars, and many other nations are engaged in trade wars, curtailing the freedom of people to travel, to trade, to study abroad, to have a voice. We are living through times where we celebrate different freedoms that we paid dearly for, and yet, we have not learned the lesson that unless we acknowledge and respect the freedom of all - we continue to risk a world that is at a continual war and destruction.
This year, as we celebrate Passover and Palm Sunday, let's remember our responsibility to each other, to all human beings.
