Diversity in Polyphenols is good.

If you can guess the name (genus/species) of this gorgeous creature on the right, I’ll give you one of our products.  Look carefully, it’s not as easy as it looks.

Slow down the aging process!  “Slow down the development of aging associated diseases- cardio-vascular ones, cancer and neurodegenerative diseases!”

Who doesn’t, amongst your patients who are “baby boomers”, want to slow down the aging process?  L Rossi et al, in their peer reviewed paper, Benefits from Dietary Polyphenols for Brain Aging and Alzheimer’s Disease, Neurochem Res 2008, Volume 33 Issue 12 pp 2390-2400, add to the mounting body of scientific evidence the awareness that diets rich in polyphenols are preventative and can even reverse the aging process.

The researchers summarized the characteristics of the most studied food polyphenols which were shown to have potential anti-aging and brain protective activities.  Foods that due to their polyphenolic content were able to scavenge free radicals, chelate redox metals, down regulate inflammatory activities and of course have components that cross the blood-brain barrier.  Their bottomline: Eat a wide variety of polyphenol rich food.

What are the differences and similarities between the High ORAC Synbiotic Formula and the No. 7 Systemic Booster?

Both are synbiotic formulas (synbiotic being a product that has probiotic and prebiotic). Both contain lactic acid bacteria that are human medical research pedigreed species. The High ORAC organisms come from our American collection and the No. 7 good bugs come from our Bulgarian collection.

High ORAC contains: L. acidophilus and B. longum.
The No. 7 contains: L. acidophilus and B. longum plus L. casei, L. helveticus, B infantis, and supernatant which is the metabolites of L. bulgaricus and S. thermophilus.

The High ORAC contains: wild blueberry extract, grape and grape seed extract, raspberry and raspberry seed extract, tart cherry, cranberry and prune.
The No. 7 contains pomegranate extract and whole, cranberry extract and whole, tart cherry and pineapple.

The High ORAC is in a capsule and contain a little bit of inulin as a carrier for the good bugs.  There is a 25 Billion bug count per capsule with an ORAC value of 1500.
The No. 7 is a powder and offers more fiber per dose (4 grams per tsp) in the way of inulin.  The dose is one teaspoon a day with a good bug count of 6.33 billion and an ORAC of 1000 per dose.  But don’t forget their is the supernatant which provides the enzymes, B vitamin, bacterocins, biosurfactants of L. bulbaricus and S. thermophilus. Not to mention the added D3, folate, carnitine,carnosine, fructoborate, and blood sugar lowering compounds within the No. 7.

This creature is Durrell’s Vontsira, a Madagascan mammal in the family Eupleridae of the order Carnivora.  Yes, it is a carnivore, most closely related to the brown-tailed mongoose.  It was discovered by a conservation biologist working for Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust is the Lac Alaotra marshes of Madagascar.  The future of this newly discovered species is very uncertain because the Lac Alaotra marshes are extremely threatened by agricultural expansion, pestisides, burning and invasive plants and fish.  It is likely to be one of the most threatened carnivores in the world.
